Natioanal Pharmacy Week valedictory function


Prof. M.D. Karvekar, Executive Committee Member Of Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI) addressed the budding pharmacists the importance of pharmacy and also position of india in manufacturing of drugs. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning to expand drug distributing services - Jan Aushadhi

Even though there is 2% decrease in economy due to demonetization there is no change in pharmacy sector. He further marked that India stands in 3rd position in export of medicines.He further said that there would be same syllabus throughout the India irrespective of university from next year.

Health Camp Free Eye Checkup at Sunkarapeta village


25TH NOVEMBER 2016: A FREE HEALTH CAMPAIGN AND EYE CHECK UP was organized at sunkaripeta village in collaboration with Maharaja District Government Hospital, Vizianagaram. Around 125 people have availed this opportunity, Doctor of Maharaja District Government Hospital, Dr.Trinadha Rao, Balaji Panigrahi(Ophthalmic Assistant) attended and checked the patients. They suggested spectacles for 45 patients and also agreed to conduct 21 Free cataract eye operations for the patients.

Rahul Varma, Director of Raghu Educational Institutions have planned to donate free spectacles to the poor and needy. The villagers of Sunkarapeta felt very glad for this humanitarian event conducted by the Chairman Sri K. Raghu, Director K. Rahul Varma of Raghu Educational Institutions & Dr. Jagadeesh Panda Principal Raghu College of Pharmacy and they expressed their gratitude to them for sponsoring the event.




SEMINAR

K. Vasudha, M.D (General Physician), Community Health Center, Bhogapuram mandal Vzm gave seminar on awareness on Diabetes in the afternoon session at Raghu campus. She explained types of diabetes, diagnosis, precautions to be followed and also various risk factors involved. About 300 students of Raghu educational institutions attended the seminar. This provided knowledge about the disorder and also the safety precautions to be followed.




SILENT PHARMA RALLY


SILENT PHARMA RALLY was conducted by the students and staff from our corporate office in Ramnagar passing through GVMC circle, 222 bus stop, LIC building finally ending at Gandhi statue.

Pamphlets were distributed and pluck cards, posters were exhibited by the students which created awareness about the role of pharmacist in providing advice on the dosage of diabetic medicines, Care to be taken for the prevention of diabetes like diet plan and home remedial approaches etc.




18th Pharma exhibition

Pharma exhibition was organized by the students for creating awareness in use of antibiotics, for which students from in and around colleges were invited.



19th Free Health and Eye Checkup Camp at Sunkaripeta Village

As a part of 54th National Pharmacy Week (NPW) celebrations; we have successfully conducted Free Health and Eye check up campaign at Sunkarapeta village Vizianagaram district on 19th November 2015.

VIGNAN FEST

Total 30 B.Pharmacy students attended VIGNAN FEST which is held on 30.09.2016 and 01.10.2016.
It is happy to announce that our B.Pharmacy students K. Sirisha,K.Sandhya,V.Mani Deepa secured 2nd prize in poster presentation.
Our Students are multitalented and they are enthusiastic in participating in all events.
Our student Divya Sri got 1st prize in spot dance competition.
We also won 1st prize in memory game.

Orientation Programme

Orientation Programme was organized on 06-09-2016 for Both B.PHARMACY and M.pharmacy students for the academic year 2016-17. Prof.K.V.Ramana Murthy, Professor- Pharmaceutical Technology Andhra University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Viskhapatbnam was invited as chief guest. The programme started with lightening of lamp and later the dignitaries addressed the Budding Pharmacists. Prof. Jagadeesh Panda gave presentation about the esteemed institution and various subjects there were about to learn.

As per directions given by Prof.T.Koteswara rao Dean of college development council we have arranged a seminar on TWO DIGIT DEVELOPMENT on 12-08-2016 at Raghu campus.

Prof. M.Sundar Rao, Department of Economics, Andhra university first gave brief data on Indian economy and explained the various sectors i.e primary sector (agriculture), secondary sectot(industries), tertiary sector(service sector). He later explained the net growth rate at National and state level i.e about GSDP.

Later he started his presentation by explaining the 3 major objectives of government of Andhra Pradesh.
1. By 2022- State should be of the 3 best states
2. By 2029- AP Economy – Best Economy
3. By 2050- Best Global Destination Gateway to South East Asia countries

Even after the irrational bifurcation Andhra Pradesh has strived hard to achieve 2 digit development i.e 10.5 inspite of its severe revenue deficit. Development is long term process and this can be achieved through mission based economy.

Government has appointed growth vehicles to achieve this and district level, panchayat and mandal level authorities have to concentrate more on it. Students should have clear idea about the economic position and they should strive hard and contribute for increasing the economy.

About 200 students from Raghu College of Pharmacy and principal attended the guest lecture. This guest lecture provided students basic information regarding the economy and also how to have the sustainable 2 digit economy and their role in it & Students felt delighted upon interacting with him.




A Two Day International Conference on EMERGENT STRATEGIES FOR IMPURITY PROFILING on 16th & 17th July, 2016

Mr. K. Girish, Head Operations, Laurus labs, Visakhapatnam session was very interactive, informative. He gave a detailed lecture on practicing safety and various sources of contamination like dust,machines,floors,personnel and how they can be prevented. He elaborated on topics like control of various variables like temperature, humidity, airflow(air handling units) and pressure for production of API ’S with high quality

Mr.K.Ch.Ramesh, Manager, Laurus labs explained the importance of integrity,effluent management, methods to prevent cross contamination.

About 200 students, faculty, Dr.Jagadeesh Panda, Principal Raghu College of Pharmacy attended this guest lecture. Students expressed their gratitude upon interacting with them and they were very thankful for the suggestions given by them.




Guest lecture on Introduction to Various Departments and their Functions in Pharmaceutical Industry on 29th Dec 2015

This guest lecture provided a platform for students for sustainable learning and knowledge exchange on functions of various departments. About 300 students attended the guest lecture.

Dr.Trilochan Padhi gave lecture on different departments like crd (chemical research development), analytical development, quality control, quality assurance, good laboratory practices, intellectual property rights etc. He further added that students should have passion to work and they should be dynamic , alert and also their attitude is important to work in pharmaceutical industry.

Spectacle Distribution on 9th December 2015

Sri K.Raghu, Chairman, Raghu Educational Institutions, handed over 70 spectacles to the villagers of sunkarapeta on 09-12-2015.

The panchayat president & villagers of Sunkarapeta felt very glad for this humanitarian event conducted by the Chairman Sri K.Raghu, Director K.Rahul varma of Raghu Educational Institutions & Dr.Jagadeesh Panda Principal Raghu College of Pharmacy and they expressed their gratitude to them for sponsoring the event.

20th Pharma Rally

As a part of 54th National Pharmacy Week (NPW) celebrations; we have conducted Silent Pharma Rally from our corporate office in Ramnagar passing through GVMC circle, 222 bus stop, LIC building finally ending at Gandhi statue on 20th November 2015

Principal of Raghu College of Pharmacy Dr. Jagadeesh Panda, Faculty and about 250 students participated in the rally. Pamplets were distributed and pluck cards were exhibited by the students which created awareness about responsible use of antibiotics, use of prescription medicines, various drug interactions, and safety use of drugs.

Principal Jagadeesh panda gave a talk on the use of antibiotics. He said that excessive use of antibiotics will result in resistance which means that we no longer can use these antibiotics. Therefore it is our responsibility to preserve antibiotics for future use.




Vigilance Awareness Week 26th to 31st October 2015

As per instructions from All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated from 26th October to 31st October, 2015 with theme Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance. The Vigilance Awareness Week coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known to be a man of high integrity.

In this connection, Essay writing and Elocution competition were conducted for promoting awareness among the youth of the nation about the preventive vigilance and importance of high moral values and strong character.

About 250 students from Raghu Engineering College, Raghu Institute of Technology and Raghu College of Pharmacy participated in these competitions

Valedictory function is scheduled on 31-10-2015 at seminar hall ,Raghu Institute of Technology and SRI GOPALA KRISHNA RAO, IPS SUPERINTEND OF POLICE CBI,ACB,VISAKHAPATNAMarrived as chief guest. He gave a talk that the Commission has been laying stress on Preventive Vigilance and driving home the point that vigilance should not be seen in isolation but as a tool to achieve good governance and better operational results.

Prizes were given to the winners in the essay writing and eloctution competitions by the chief guest and later principal of the college Dr. Jagadeesh panda and dean gave a token of memory to the chief guest.





Blood Donation Camp 11th September 2015

Blood donation camp was conducted on 11-09-2015 as a part of N.S.S Activity in the occasion of birthday of Chairman of Raghu Educational Institutions. Students, faculty and non teaching staff participated in this event voluntarily. This event was organized in collaboration with INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY.

Chief guest of the function shri S.Dilli rao , Head of Indian Red Cross Society was wondered by the response of students towards this social work. He also assured his assistance if required and congratulated the management for the affection showed by the students and staff.




Orientation Programme for the Batch 2015-16

Orientation programme for the batch 2015-16 was organized in the college. The fresher students along with their parents, faculty , Principal of the college and the correspondent & dean participated in this programme. It started by lightining the lamp and with a prayer song.

The Principal of the college Dr. Jagadeesh panda enlightened the budding pharmacists about their beautiful carrier and also about the facilities provided by the college for their growth.

The chief guest of the function Dr.Ramana Murthy, Professor Andhra university gave presentation on various job opportunities availed for them also congratulated them for choosing pharmacy as their graduate course. assured them his cooperation in future

Sadbhavana Diwas August 20th 2015

The Sadbhavana (means having good feelings for others) Diwas or Harmony Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the earlier Prime Minister of India named Rajiv Gandhi. Having good feelings for others was the only the mission of the government of Rajiv Gandhi. It is celebrated every year on 20th August by the Congress in order to encourage the national integration, peace, national integrity, love, affection and communal harmony among the Indian people of all religions

DIGITAL INDIA WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Raghu College of Pharmacy celebrated Digital India Week

Raghu College of Pharmacy celebrated Digital India Week in campus on 8th July, 2015. Prof S Veerabhadriah, Correspondent of Raghu Educational Institutions attended as chief guest for these celebrations. Various posters were exhibited to create awareness among the students about the Digital Infrastructure and about e-Governance and Services.


The chief guest gave vast information regarding Digitalization of India and also about the added advantages of it. He also gave the statistics investment made by the government of India (Rs. 4.5 lakh core) and other businessmen. He also told that this programme has potential to generate 18 lakh jobs.

Dr. Jagadeesh Panda, principal of the college explained about the goal of Digital India to the students: To ensure cashless, paperless, non-repudiable and traceable transactions. This would lead to cost-effective and citizen-friendly services, which, in turn, would lead to reduction in corruption, enhanced productivity and improved ease of doing business.

DIGITAL INDIA WEEK CELEBRATIONS


This programme enlightened the students in usage of Digilocker where students can their certificates, about National Scholarship portal and all the students were provided the facility for opening the Digilocaker. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff took part in this programme.

A guest lecture on Animal Experiments, Welfare & Ethical Issues in India was conducted on 4th Apr 2015 at Raghu College of Pharmacy in REC Auditorium.

Dr.B.Dinesh Kumar gave lecture on Socio Economic Responsibility of Pharmacist, Reverse Pharmacology and also about Magic Remedy Act.


This guest lecture provided a platform for students for sustainable learning and knowledge exchange on animal experimentation. About 300 students attended the guest lecture.

Safety for Sure - Mobile App

Girl students from Raghu College of Pharmacy participated in programme towards safety of women Deputy chief minister and Home minister N CHINARAJAPPA, along with Director-General of Police (DGP) JV RAMUDU, launched the iClik (Instant Complaint login Internet Kiosk) centre and ‘Abhayam-safety for sure’ mobile application.


This application facilitates the reportage of crime within seconds and help women in distress. Once the application is downloaded all one has to do is to press a pre-determined emergency button and the call will be activated within 10 seconds.

Pharma Exhibition: around 35 posters were exhibited by the students of this college on various topics like Role of pharmacist in responsible use of medicines, Types of dosage forms, Water borne diseases, Natural home remedies, Addictive drugs etc. in this event, 250 students of Raghu educational institutions and students from in and around colleges have visited the exhibition and they felt happy for providing this wonderful opportunity.The exhibition created alertness amongst the public in responsible use of medicines.

Valedictory of National Pharmacy Week celebrations was conducted on November 26th. On this Occasion Principal of Andhra university collage of pharmaceutical sciences Dr Ganapati have attended the chief guest. He passed an excellent massage to all the budding pharmacists and all the students were very much impressed and motivated by his speech.


Rally on the occasion of National Pharmacy Week celebrations was conducted on November 25th. Rally was conducted all RCPians in Visakhapatnam with a main motto to creat awareness on the duties of a pharmacist. Almost the press and Media have covered the News. It was taken lead by the principal Dr Jagadeesh Panda.


Medical and Health Camp at Chapalupada, Bheemli was conducted on November 24th. With an intention to creat awareness on the duties of a pharmacist this medical and health camp was organized at Chapalapuda, Bheemili by the students and faculty members of RCP. More than 500 residence of that locality had availed the facilities of the camp.


Competition on the occasion of National Pharmacy Week celebrations was conducted on November 23rd. Various competitions like essay writing Elocution, Drawing, singing, etc were conducted.


Plantation in 50th National Pharmacy Week celebrations on November 22nd - Final year B.Pharmacy students have actively participated in the plantation program with a huge enthusiasm in the RCP premises.


Inauguration of 50th National Pharmacy Week celebrations on November 21st - A Golden Jubilee Celebration of National Pharmacy Week was grandly inaugurated by the heads of various departments from the RAGHU educational Institutions.


Two Days Work Shop On Basic Statistics and statistical pharmaceutical application was conducted on November 12th & 13th. Almost 150 students have been attended the workshop from various pharmacy collages in and around Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. And made this event a huge success.


Health camp was organized in RCP in 1st years students by the in charge Mrs. K.Padmaja. and Miss Indira on October 20th & 21st. Almost 400 people from other two collages of this campus have attended for this health camp and in this health camp Blood grouping, Blood Pressure and hemoglobin count was determined and necessary advice was given to students.


Republic Day celebrations were held on January 26th in the campus along with Raghu Educational Institutions.


48th National Pharmacy Week Celebrations 2010 were held on Nov 21st – 27th by conducting silent rally in the Visakhapatnam city, quiz, extra-curricular contests, games and sports. The winners were awarded with certificates and momentoes during Valedictory function by the hands of Chief Guest Dr. J. Vijaya Ratna; Guest of Honor, Dr. K. Satyanarayana, Principal, RIT and Preseident of function Dr. Jagadeesh Panda, Principal, RCP.


A Trimer District Level PharmaQUIZ covering 3 districts Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and 13 colleges, was organized in association with a canada web portal Pharmainfo.net Sri R. Uday Bhaskar, Asst. Director, Drug Control Administration was the chief guest and guest of honors include Prof. K.V. Ramana Murthy, Prof. J. Vijaya Ratna and Dr. Jagadeesh Panda. Mr. G.S.N. Koteswara Rao, faculty, RCP was the quiz incharge and co-ordinator.


Independence Day was celebrated on August 15th 2010 by conducting competitions to students for a week in various events like essay writing, elocution, patriotic songs, games and sports. On the day the winners were awarded with certificates and mementos after flag hoisting in the campus.


RCP has organized a most memorable one day National Conference on Recent Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences held in its campus, on July 10th, 2010.

The Conference is a grand success with a gathering of 600 delegates comprising principals, teachers, research scholars and students from various institutes all over India. Year 2009

Inaugural function and Orientation program for 3rd Batch students of RCP on Oct 19th 2009.


Teachers Day was celebrated by students on September 19th 2009 instead of September 5th (due to the sudden demise of our honorable Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.R).


RCP students with faculty went to the Orphanage: ABODE OF PEACE second time and donated rice, dal, oil, sugar, fruits and snacks. All of us spent the evening time with the blessed students in the orphanage.

National Pharmacy Week-2008 Celebrations: Nov 16th – 22nd 2008.

Organized Blood Group Check up camp, B.P. Check up, Poster presentations, Games, Plantation, Essay Writing and Debate.

Visited Pharmazell Company, German collaborated R & D plant in Visakhapatnam and conducted a Blood Group check up camp on the eve of NPW-2008 under the supervision of Prof. G. Vijaya Lakshmi.

RCP students with Principal and faculty has spent their happy moments in Vizag based Orphanage: ABODE OF PEACE and donated rice, fruits and snacks.
